Lincoln Tech
Lincoln Tech has been in the business of providing in-depth technical training for almost 65 years. In particular, the school’s Collision Repair program features a multi-faceted approach that enables students to get their hands dirty with some of the latest technology used by auto body shops across the country, side by side with highly knowledgeable body repair technicians. With a student to teacher ratio of 2:1, participants are guaranteed to be able to get the attention they need in order to learn as much as possible in their time at Lincoln Tech.
The Collision Repair program makes it possible for students to obtain a federal IMACA license while still in the process of taking classes. It offers a curriculum that lasts between 12 and 24 months, depending upon whether full-time or evening education is selected. The goal of the program is to provide students with the skills employers are looking for in entry-level workers. Specifically, the Collision Repair program is targeted towards graduating students who are qualified to work as frame technicians, collision repair technicians, and paint technicians. An associate’s degree or diploma is granted by Lincoln Tech at the end of the program.
Students will be exposed to the entire gamut of collision repair skills, including working with the PPG Painting System, dent repair, body panel removal and installation, surface prepping, rust repair, precision welding, and cutting. Patching and materials work is also taught through the program, as is proper priming and basic mechanical repair skills for working with more complicated auto body tasks.
Lincoln Tech offers the type of flexible class schedules and financial assistance programs that make it possible for the widest possible range of students to attend classes. The school also provides graduates with access to its large network of professional collision repair contacts who can help technicians find the exact job within the industry that they are looking for.
